An essential step
to effective research communication is publication. This may seem obvious, but preparing your research for publication is not necessarily an easy thing to do — it can be a long and difficult process requiring numerous submissions and rewrites at the best of times. However, it is also something that benefits greatly through institutional, peer, and publisher support structures and resources. Recently, Taylor and Francis/Routledge contributed to a publishing workshop in Cameroon that aimed to make this process that much clearer and simpler.

We are pleased to announce that October 2011 issue of the Publishers for Development Newsletter is now available to download. This issue features information on the forthcoming PfD conference — Getting research to researchers in developing countries: The complex picture of availability, access and use, along with snippets on interesting publications, events and some ‘food for thought’ crammed within these four pages.
We’ve also got a contribution from Janet Remmington of Taylor & Francis on a joint presentation by Taylor & Francis/Routledge and the Commonwealth journal The Round Table on ‘Preparing for Publication and Supporting Early Career Authors’.
